I want to eat ALL the cake and share with you the lessons I've learnt so far in my 25 years.
As with most lessons in life these are ongoing goals. Some days everything feels like a success and motivation is sky high, other days I just want to binge watch TV shows in bed while downing the biggest packet of chips I can find... and that's ok.
Life is meant to be lived, however that looks day to day!
Take risks and try NEW things.
Don't be afraid to do things on your own. You don't always have to follow others, if you want something go for it.
Don't let go of creativity as you grow up. Paint, sew, draw, collage, crochet, colour-in, take photos, etc.
Find a work/life balance. This is an on-going challenge but so important to happiness.
Embrace the moment and stop wishing your life away. Live in the present!!
Travel as often as possible.
Learn to cook. Find a recipe and follow it.
Give up on friendships that aren't making you happy. But, also be open to forgiveness and understanding and realise that as people grow and change it is possible to adapt your friendship to fit.
Stand up for what you believe in.
Help people (by whatever means you possess).
Use manners. Please's and Thankyou's are so simple and require such little effort. Use them.
Be grateful for what you have. Your education, the roof over your head, food, clothes, family, friends, pets, money, opportunities, work etc. If you have all or any of theses BE GRATEFUL, you have so much more than so many other people in the world.
Money isn't everything... Family is!
Age is just a number. Act the age you feel. Some moments I'm 5, others I'm 80. There's no rush to grow up and there's no reason to "Act your age".
I'm headed back to work today after 2 weeks of school holidays. I plan to force my class to sing me Happy Birthday a million times and remind them every second that it's my special day, haha.
