EAT Merimbula 2015

Another year, another annual EAT Merimbula to attend.

This year I had the insight of having attended the year before and knew just to how to tackle the event. We arrived right on start time at 10am, as I knew how quickly the parking spots were going to fill up and the lines were going to grow. Then we grabbed a map and did a walk all the way up the line of stalls to suss out what was on offer and what we wanted to try most.

The smell wafting from the Cheeky Mango stall lead us to make our first stop for some absolutely delicious Salt & Pepper Squid. These melt in your mouth pieces of squid were perfectly crispy on the outside and seasoned to perfection.

Next, we made our way back to the Hardcore Carnivore van. Last year Dad and I had desperately wanted to grab a bite from this van but were turned off by an hour long line. Not this year though, Mum and I got in there nice and early and grabbed ourselves a super tasty Pulled Pork Roll... yummo!

Our next stop was inevitable. I can't go to this event and not get oysters. I just can't... they're toooo good!

Of course, we had to finish it off with something sweet. So homemade icecream it was. Nom, nom, nom!

There was even added entertainment when a local seal popped its head up to say hi, had to grab a photo, soooo cute.

Overall, I really enjoy this event. I think that it would be even better if the road was closed and stalls moved back onto it, allowing more room for people to walk and providing areas to sit and eat.

You had me at the first photo {I love, love, love oysters}. Thanks so much for letting me know about this. So sad I missed it as we were in Kiama for the Canberra Day Long Weekend. Thanks for letting me know that you read my blog - it's always nice to get a comment or two :)
