12wbt: Week Two (Reflection)

Well this week was sure better than the last!
 
My cold/flu was gone and I was ready to make up for last weeks lost workouts. I made it to the gym 3 mornings to run it out on the treadmill and attended a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) class on Tuesday night. Plus, I'm heading off to a Zumba class this afternoon for my #supersaturdaysession.
 
Those of you following the 12wbt program (or who have followed it previously) may notice that I am not following Mish's training plan exactly. You see, the 12wbt training plan includes workouts for my non-running days that I am meant to complete on my own in the gym, BUT, that is so not me! When I work out on my own I find myself losing motivation and only putting in minimal effort. I need the group/class environment to encourage me along and push me to try harder. Thus, I swap these workouts for classes (usually aiming for ones with similar goals as the training plan session).
 
I was also sooooo much happier with my meal plan this week. I made a real effort to choose recipes that aligned with my own personal views on healthy eating (less sugar please!) and man, did I choose well!?! I got to eat the most delicious blueberry and banana muffins for breakfasts after my morning runs and had yummy wholemeal toast with cream cheese and blueberries on the other mornings.

I also had the most delicious, simple, easy to make, mouth watering 12wbt meal yet!

Yep, my favourite food in the whole wide world turned healthy for me to dig into guilt free. Now, obviously I can't divulge Mish's recipe right here but let me share this awesome tip that cuts calories and ups nutrition = winning!
 
 
I love that I am not depriving myself of anything on this program. I even went out for high tea on Friday afternoon after work. I just made sure that when I was diarising and organising for the week I considered this blow out and made sure calories were being burnt that day and that there would still be a calorie deficit at the end of the day (even if it did end up only being -8 hehe).

Well done! I love mix and matching the menu I must admit, and swapping things around for my own eating pleasure. And really, how can you fail, blueberries! Yum!

I did the rounds couple of years ago and struggled a bit with the fitness plans. I needed someone to motivate me so I'm really enjoying the change with the videos now loaded on the website.
