happy 21st to a very special little sister.

me on right, sister on left.

i have one sibling...
a younger sister...
who yesterday turned the big 2-1!!!

she's the chubba bubba at the front, i'm trendy in pink and polka dots!

my sister is so special...
she's smart, athletic, kind, generous and one of those annoying people that EVERYONE likes...

summer days 2008

and she currently lives on the other side of the world...
in london...
working as a nanny.

christmas fun.

obviously my family miss her like crazy, since she's been gone almost a year...
mum and dad are off to visit her soon, but i won't get to due to my american summer travel plans...
instead i've done a few cute things to acknowledge her while she's been away...
and skyping her loaddssssss...
and ofcourse for her 21st birthday i had to do something super special...
so i made her a slideshow of memories from the last 21 years and put it up on facebook and everyone commented on how it made them cry and how thoughtful it was...
but you see, my sister and i make these for each other ALL the time, so i needed something new, something different...
enter this.....

note: this video was very much inspired by the wonderfully creative sabrina!

i'm not sure what she thinks about it yet...
her nanny family have taken her to spain to celebrate so i'll have to wait til she is online next...
but others who have commented on it are loving my dads enthusiasm hahaha.

what do you think?
how do you celebrate with people far away??

our first holiday without our parents 2008

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR SISTER! You are so sweet to give her such a special gift! I bet the slideshow was adorable (and I love these photos here) and your parents are so, so cute in the video. You look so much like your Mom! And I think I'm in love with your accent :) Now it officially sounds like I'm hitting on you so that's kewl. Anyway, I haven't really had to celebrate a loved one's birthday with them really far away so I dont know what I'd do. But this is darling.
