Which TABLET to take??

as previously mentioned i am escaping winter this year...
and jetting of to the US...
i absolutely cannot wait, i am sooooo excited about it!

now, i'm getting myself nice and organised...
and i'm thinking about buying myself a tablet...
it will mainly be for communication purposes when i'm travelling, so things like facebook and email...
and this is where i'm looking for your help/advice...
please recommend the best tablets you have encountered!

i'm liking the look of the windows surface (above), but not sure if i want to spend that much...
and i think i would prefer a tablet with windows 8 but i'm interested to hear how the other android products go to...
so get to it...

Gosh, that's SO amazing that you're coming here for 4 months. I can't wait, can't wait, can't wait to see what you do here! Such an opportunity!! :) :)

I really like the Windows Tablet bc I like the Windows system and it has everything I want in a tablet (plus a keyboard which helps with typing). The iPad is good too (the bf has one) but I like to upload, type, etc. more on a tablet and Windows is better for that in my opinion.

Hmm we have an iPad which I love but my parents recently bought a much cheaper tablet from Aldi of all places.. They bought it for travel so they didn't have to worry so much about it... Taking a tablet away is a great idea compared to a bulky laptop but last time I went to the us, I just used the wireless on my iPhone.. There's a huge chance your camp won't have wireless, or if they do, that staff won't have access to it ( this was the case at my camp) so it might be worth checking that out before spending a lot of money on a tablet you might not get much use from. It's also worth remembering stuff at camp is often left in an unlocked bunk that a lot of support stuff have access too and I'm sad to say a lot of stuff went missing in the first few weeks when I was at camp until two of the kitchen staff were fired :(

Thanks for the advice girls!!

I really want the tablet for the six or so weeks that im travelling more so then at camp. I never thought about it being left unattended tho at camp :/ I don't have an iphone and my current smart phone is fairly unreliable (aka my plan ends just after i get back and my phone is slowly dying in the lead up haha).

I think ill go like your parents and get a cheaper model tablet.

Thanks again
:)
xx
