i enjoy regularly changing up my hair (as discussed in this post)...
and im not afraid to try something a bit different (as seen here)...
so having had blondeish hair for awhile now i thought it was about time for a change!
obviously this isnt the best photo to show my hair, but this is what it was like before... dark blondeish with gross brown roots :/ also, i made this cake!!! :)
the plan was to go to the hair dressers and get them to change it up for me...
but then i spent four weeks on prac not making any money and the plans changed...
i decided it was going to have to be a home dye job!
there is so much foam in each box...
plenty of dye to cover all my hair...
the colour is strong...
and you get a big tube of conditioner which makes your hair feel like heaven...
i am still loving the silky goodness days after the application!
note that the top of my hair is not that weird brown colour, there was a light directly above my head!
what do you think??? do you home dye?
disclaimer: i recieved free product in order to write this post. i contacted the company myself having been previously impressed by other products they produce. the opinions in this post are my own and i recieved no monetary compensation for this post.
i have officially completed my last ever practical teaching placement!
i spent the last four weeks in a year four class and loved it...
the kids were classics...
so much personality in that room...
and my mentor teacher was fantastic, he is a behaviour management genius and had the whole class wrapped around his little finger whilst still keeping them engaged and teaching them to love school!
being able to spend the past month at home whilst i did my prac was an added bonus...
any time i get to be with my family and on the coast i am one happy girl!
so now im back at uni...
i miss my family...
and my puppy...
and being able to walk on the beach!
but only one more semester and im done with uni...
after 4 years of thinking about it, i finally just went ahead and bought the damn thing!
i was worried the switch would lose me readers...
and it has...
but, guess what?
i dont mind one bit...
i love looking into the address bar, seeing the dot com and feeling like i own a 'real' website now!
and with the introduction of www.momentaryreality.com i thought i would share the meaning behind the blog name with you all...
MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REALITY
the name of my blog is actually taken from the lyrics of the song 'it can wait' by aussie hip hop artist illy...
i first heard the song in the maldives when one of my fellow travellers played it to me and the lyrics spoke to me instantly...
the chorus sings:
" Happiness, happiness is fine but its momentary,
A momentary lapse of reality. Reality is fine, for the moment it can wait I’m addicted to the chase of my Happiness"
here is the song if you havent heard it:
yes i know every single word! and rap like a star whenever i hear it :)
and here are some of my favourite lines from it:
"its like the moment compared to staring at pictures of it"
"its perfect in that moment, we own it, its ours,
no happy ever afters, just happy for right nows"
"its nights i wont remember, with mates I’ll never forget"
"aint no amount of words, close to define that feeling,
reality and dreaming, tow that fine line between em"
"we don’t dream to scale"
i decided to use the title momentary lapse of reality because i felt that it related to my blog in that i am always seeking out new adventures and things that make me happy and then sharing them here with all of you!
how did you come up with your blog name?
if you have already written a post about it, please link, i'd love to read it!
with winter approaching fast (tooo fast!) i'm finding myself sporting a hoodie most days (or afternoons whilst on prac... totes not appropriate for school!)...
i love the comfort and warmth...
but i have two issues with them...
1. they aren't long enough...
i want them to cover my butt and really keep me warm!
2. the sleeves aren't long enough...
i want them to cover my hands and really keep me warm!
and so whats a girl to do?
simple, buy a men's hoodie!!!
i've toyed with the idea of buying myself a men's hoodie for awhile but couldn't bring myself to purchase an item i knew was made for the opposite sex...
until i saw this...
yes i realise i look like crap, its saturday morning, i want to post the hoodie and cbf with hair and makeup... so is life!
i walked past the store and the colours caught my attention instantly...
i was busy so had to keep on walking but went back with my mum later that day...
tried it on...
and couldnt resist buying it (ok well technically mum paid for it!)
the stupid face represents just how crazy my love for this hoodie makes me ;)
im crazy about the electric blue/bright yellow combo...
and i love that the length lets me wear tights as pants underneath it...
and i won't stretch the sleeves because they already hang over my hands!
my winter love!
do you own any men's clothing, that you bought specifically for yourself to wear?
but there are other places i want to see and dont know if i have time...
so i dont know if this tour is actually the best for me!?!
i really do want to see most the places on the tour tho (really want to visit New York, South Carolina, Miami, New Orleans, Memphis, Texas - ok pretty much everywhere on the tour!)...
but i would also like to get to portland, home of the lovely caitlin...
and chicago (again a tad influenced by miss caitlin!)...
Niagra falls and the Grand Canyon would be cool too...
basically i want to go EVERYWHERE, but i just dont have the time...
ofcourse, i plan to travel to the USA again at some point, but would love to hear your reccomendations!
so advise me peeps!
note: i have chosen contiki tours as i have been on one before to new zealand and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have also so far found it to be the most cost effective tour company. If you have had experiences with another company i would love to hear your recommendations! I am in no way affiliated with contiki, nor have i been asked to write this post or am i receieving any compensation for doing so. However if contiki would like to sponsor me to blog about these tours i'd willingly accept ;).
