career confusion

i've said i wanted to be a teacher since i was 5...
when i got a little older i would type up comprehension worksheets about CDs that i owned and coerce my little sister into letting me play teacher (i bribed her with chewing gum i bought with my pocket money)...
and now i'm in my final year of a four year primary education degree.

but teaching isn't the only career ive considered in my twenty two years...
i also imagined myself as a...

JOURNALIST
when i was in year ten we had to undertake two mandatory work experience placements...
i was lucky enough to get to do one of mine at madison magazine...
it was a new magazine at the time and i was lucky to get accepted there after applying to cleo mag...
yes, i got to meet paula joye...
and i was super excited when i passed bron (the editor of cleo at the time) in the hallway...
and i even got to sit at lisa wilkinson's desk (and she sat next to me!!!)...
but it just wasnt the right fit...
i didnt have the style...
i was young and naive and couldnt handle all the personalities involved...
i knew after that one week that journalism was not for me!
(note: my other workexperience was at a pre-school i clicked with the position instantly!)
 the next mia freedman?

POLICE WOMAN
i dont know where this idea came from exactly but ive considered it on and off for about the last five years...
i am a rule follower and im definately not known to break the law...
speeding, drink driving, driving whilst on drugs, assault, domestic violence and other illegal acts bother me and i guess thats part of why i'd love to be involved in stopping and preventing people from doing these things.
however, im not convinced that i am fit enough nor do i want to deal with that much paperwork!
working the uniform.

ACTRESS
i just love pretending to be someone else...
i love television and movies and watching people become someone else completely...
that said i do not have the dedication and guts it takes to become a professional actress...
not being guaranteed work and being constantly judged based on your appearance would drive me cray cray...
i have done a few workshops here and there, a few extra gigs in short films and been in a television commercial which were all great experiences...
id love to devote more time to acting when i finish at uni.
rocking my jessica alba-esque bod! (we even have the same birthday!)

have you ever considered do something different with your career?
why havent you?

the idea for this post was inspired by melissa at suger coat it

lol well as a teacher i can tell you that you're also an actress - definitely, comedian, counselor, parent, police, etc. etc. sooo if teaching is what you have your heart set on, don't worry, you'll get to do all this stuff!!

but i also have really considered going to law school and my dream job would be to be a travel journalist, buttt luckily by being a teacher i get summers to travel around and just pretend that's my job! hahah

A natural born teacher, obviously!
I too wanted to be a journalist but had my path changed after work experience with Channel 9. I went out with the journalists to all the courts and saw how they have to dig up the worst of the worst and push their faces into peoples lowest points in life. Not for me, thanks!

We're both still enjoying writing though. Blogs are our outlet and no editors here ;P

hhaha you are SO cute! besides your adorable face in all of these roles, what stuck out to me the most was the fact that your policeman wear that outfit! what! i have never seen that ever, soooo diff from here.

anyway, i so respect where you are in life, i wish i was back there sometimes. you just never know what you will actually end up doing. But i'm seriously excited to see where you fall my dear, because i am forever impressed by you varying interests. xoxo.
