seeking adventure.

2012 marks my last year of university...
just thinking about finishing uni makes me feel old...
there's so much in the world that i want to see and do...
so many different experiences i want to have...
i don't know how i can possibly fit them all into one life time!

i want to fit so much into this year and the next...
next year i hope to get some more travel done and really tick off some tasks on life's list of must-do's...
this year i just want to take the time to really appreciate the unique experience of university and how few responsibilities i have at this time in my life...
i don't want to commit to a job that takes up too much of my time, i want to be free and have the flexibility to jump at new opportunities!

i'm generally not afraid to take on new experiences by myself...
but sometimes its more fun to have someone you know there with you...
someone to laugh with in awkward situations...
to cry to when things aren't turning out quite as you hoped...
and just generally chat to as you find your way in a new environment...
so i'm asking you...
what do you do when no one you know is looking to have the same new experiences as you?

this year i want to go and see super nanny live...
but i'm 21, not friends with any parents, and none of my close friends are interested in child care at all!

i want to go out bush and experience a jillaroo school for a week or two...
but i can't see any of my friends or family joining me for that one either!

i plan to continue blogging...
but have you noticed the lack of young australian girls blogging? i want to read a blog i can really relate to - that isn't american.
(no offence american girls - i do LOVE your blogs)
(maybe you havent noticed a lack - maybe you know where they are all hiding, send me the links please!)

i realise life would be so boring for me if all my friends were seeking the same adventures...
but sometimes i just want someone to truly understand why i want to do particular things and even want to join me in doing them...
i guess i'm just having one of those moments of looking towards the future and wanting it all planned out perfectly...
but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

:)
xx

I am SO OFFENDED, totally kidding. I get it- I would want to read more Australian blogs if I were you (and I even would now!).

Wow- last year at College! The world is right at your fingertips and your excuses to be totally dumb for the sake of fun are dwindling more and more (sooo not trying to be a downer at 27, my excuses get fewer and fewer every day. I just know how Parents expect people to act outside of college).

The only time I have travelled alone was when I traveled for work and could fit in some sight-seeing before I had to go to the office. To be honest, I had a really good time by myself and I often look back on those trips and feel that I had a friend with me, so I definitely think you can enjoy yourself. You just have to be comfortable with taking pictures of yourself in front of people- because I document everything and I'm not going to stop if I'm solo!

I would also say that you will meet a lot of people simply coming out of college that you can connect with to travel. Or settle on a location others want to go to! everyone loves fun trips so I bet you will have no trouble.

You could always take a job right out of college... save for a year and go on a bomb trip right after. If you're like me, you were always broke in college- so it's nice to pad the pockets a bit and then go.
