... 2010 christmas survey ...

I saw this survey over at PCOSchick & thought it was a great way to celebrate christmas eve on my lil ol blog...

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper all the way!  This year I put lots of effort into my wrapping and even put ribbon on each and every gift - they all turned out so much better then i could have expected :)

2. Real tree or Artificial? We have only ever had Artificial trees, but id love to try a real one someday.

3. When do you put up the tree? Traditionally December 1st but since ive moved out of home I think it has taken mum and dad a bit longer to get round to it and I havent had my own tree yet (since i always have to move home over christmas anyways).

4. When do you take the tree down? When mum gets sick of it taking up space in the living room.

5. Do you like eggnog? Nope.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Well i loved my trampoline the year we got it, it had been raining and everything was wet so me and my sister put our swimmers on so we could go out and jump on it.

7. Hardest person to buy for? MUM!

8. Easiest person to buy for? Dad, he's always giving suggestions for what to buy him.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Nope.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? I personally dont do either, but mum sends cards out in the mail, if/when i do cards i will prob mail cards to really close family/friends and email everyone else.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Im not sure, I think I must have erased any bad gifts from my memory.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? The Santa Clause (only the original, 2 & 3 just arent the same).

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? If I see something perfect early ill grab it, otherwise start of November.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I dont think so.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Oysters and Prawns.

16. Lights on the tree (colored or clear)? Coloured!!!

17. Favorite Christmas song? Go Santa Go - by the Wiggles :)

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Home is where the heart is.

19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? Nup. Rudolph is the only one that matters anyway lol.

20. Angel, star or ribbon on top of tree? Star!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Always morning.

22. Favorite children’s Christmas song? Away in a Manager  (i think i did face xmas songs back to front - oops).

23. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Any little arguments or fights with family over silly things.

24. Favorite ornament theme or color? I saw some ornaments on sale in Myer this year that were Purple and I think a purple and silver tree would look amazing, but traditionally we stick to red and gold.

25. Turkey or ham on Christmas day? Turkey.

26. What do you want for Christmas this year? A Wii. A GHD. Anything haha.

27. Does anyone in your family dress up as Santa? No.

28. Age you discovered who Santa was? I cant remember, but I know i ruined Santa for my sister, oops.

29. Eggnog, hot chocolate, or apple cider? Hot chocolate.

30. Traditional colors (red and green) or other colors? For what? Havent I answered this?

31. Do you have any Christmas decorations on your roof? Nope.

32. How does Santa get into your house? Chimney or magic key? Magic key.

33. Do you prefer gifts or gift cards? Either.

34. Favorite children’s Christmas Cartoon? I dont think that I actually know of any!

i know the blogging is lacking right now but having had very limited internet access the past few weeks there isnt much i can do about it...

i am home now and back to a reliable internet source, however my family computer does not allow me to upload photos, so ill have to make do with wehearit images for awhile.

oh what a trip, cant believe its nearly been a year since i went...

Restaurant moment.

whilst in new zealand in queenstown we went up to the really really high tower thing  (really struggling to remember what its called) and had a huuuuuge buffet dinner...

it was delicious and we had amazing company and everyone got dressed up all pretty.

a reunion in sydney with three of the girls i went on contiki with and three of the girls we met there...

we had an amazing scumptious dinner at a lovely little thai restaurant in newtown, before heading to a local pub and drinking, dancing and singing the night away.

a mat rogers poster...

i love the gold coast titans NRL team and mat rogers retired from the team this year so i got myself a limited edition retirement shirt which came with a poster that i happily display in my room.

Word or phrase.
"totes"

as in totally but shortened...

i use this word wayyyyyy too much...

but its totes awesome!

Car ride.
well it wasnt technically a 'car ride' but travelling by bus and then train up to my friend nyssa's 21st may have been long and tiring but it was soooo good to have an opportunity to catch up with my highschool friends doodie and rach!

New person.
im racking through my brain trying to work out who was "new" in 2010...

i know i met loaddsssss of people, especially on contiki...

but i honestly can not pinpoint one person to nominate for this position this year!

do i ever!

in this particular post i want to discuss the three tv shows/episodes that are "mine".

firstly, the episode of grey's anatomy in which denny dies *eyes instantly fill with tears at the thought*...

i used to be a HUGE grey's fan...

me and my mum would snuggle up on the couch once a week to watch each and every episode on the tv...

my favourite storyline was the izzie-alex-denny love triangle and i adored izzie and denny as a couple...

these particular episodes were showing a few months after i fractured my skull in a car accident (read about that here) and i was overly emotional about, well, pretty much everything...

i cried for the entire second half of the episode, i felt like someone i knew was dying, i have never before or since been so upset by something that has happened in a movie or television show...

i continued to cry for atleast half an hour after the show, i couldnt explain it and as much as i tried to stop the tears continued to flow, my mum just sat with me until i was finally able to pull it together...

i got up, brushed my teeth, went to bed and cried myself to sleep...

the episode STILL upsets me and the amount of emotions that i have linked to it explain why i think of it as my own.

secondly, the hills...
im sure there are plenty of girls out there who consider the hills to be theirs (maybe, caitlin is even one of them?)...
but its MINE!
haha.
ever since i saw the first episode i was hooked, dont ask me to pinpoint what it is that makes this show mine or why i love it soooooo much, i just do!
i own the first 4 seasons on dvd and have the last 2 on my harddrive...
ive seen the first 4 seasons atleast 5-10 times or more...
when friends of mine began watching the show i explicitly told them they were not allowed to speak to me about the show, i didnt want to know their thoughts and opinions on the characters, i didnt want to have to defend my favourite characters...
i wanted the show to stay mine, and it has...
the only person i share this one with is my sister!

lastly, the lizzie mcguire series starring hilary duff...
oh i adore this series still!
i used to drag myself out of bed at 600 to watch it before school, buy comic books of the episodes, try and dress like lizze, buy the story books, try and talk like lizzie...
i am a huge hilary fan, ive seen her sing live twice (the only 2 times she has performed here in australia) and try to see all her movies (though im struggling to get a hold of some atm)...
the lizzie mcguire movie is one of my favourite all time movies and i could probably almost recite all the words....
oh its soooooo mine!

which has now inspired me to join a cheer squad next year (but more about that later)!
