end of an era.

i came home this week so i could attend my sisters year 12 graduation assembly...

i can't believe she has finished school already...

feels like just yesterday i did my HSC and all that jazz...

and guess what?

its been THREE years!!!

she got 2000 million awards more then i did in more schooling time...

walking away from the year 12 assembly with first place in food technology, first place in hospitality, first place in health/pd/pe, second place in geography and 17+ girls swimming champion...

talk about a nerd (jokes!).

afterwards we went and got our 'traditional' (we did after mine, so this was the second time, hardly a tradition but whatever...) milkshakes down at the juice bar...

its crazy to think that in the very near future she will be moving out of home, i like that when i come i can visit mum, dad and liss all at once, i cant imagine travelling to anywhere else to see her!

wombats.

yeah, they look cute... 

but beware the wombat on the road!!!

i was driving to my family home on thursday night after work...

plenty of people had told me not to drive at that time of night, but i had done it plenty of times before and knew perfectly well you have to look out for kangaroos and wombats on that road at night...

 well turns out it didnt matter...

i hit one anyway...

a big one...

i hit hard and fast and my car quickly began steaming with liquid running out of it...

i pulled over flicked on my hazard lights and got out to check the damage...

a massive whole in the front of my car and cabels and cords everywhere...

checked my phone and surprise, surprise...

no phone reception!!!

so i hailed down the next car that came along (luckily it was only a few minutes) and thankfully it was an amazing family who were so kind and helpful...

they drove me all the way to my home town where my parents picked me up and we arranged to have the car towed.

turns out i did around about $4000 worth of damage to my car...

but im insured...

itll take about 2-3 weeks to get repaired so im carless for awhile and therefore can't work for that time either...

thankfully though im fine!

what an experience though...

scared the hell out of me...

no night time drives for awhile!

desperate & dateless.

oh the annual ressies date night...

$10 for a night consisting of a delicious dinner, desert, a bar tab and....

a blind date.

this was my second year at date night and it went far better then the first (my first date was an american exchange student who had only been in the country 2 days and we ran out of things to talk about pretty damn quick!)...

when you arrive you are given a name tag with the name of one half of a famous couple written on it...

this year i was Buffy (looking for angel)...

you walk around, find your missing half and give them the present you have bought along for them...

my date gave me a bouncy ball and a buddha figurine thingy...

i gave him a bubbly wine cooler that tasted disgusting but had the coolest name "kiss and miss" haha...

once everyone has their date we hop on the bus and head into the city to have dinner with our dates and get trash - trash - trashy off the bar tab...

no one really takes the 'dating' part seriously, its more just a great excuse to hang out with different people and make new friends...

its so much fun to meet new people and spend time with people you would otherwise never/rarely socialise with...

yes we drank through a worm :)

that said there was a little drama to the night...

one of my friends got angry at me because i was talking to her exboyfriend too much...

she didnt even say anything to my face...

just bitched about me all night and then after she left sent me an abusive text message...

it was such a grown up way to handle everything!

but despite that hiccup i had soooo much fun and there has been SOOOOOO much goss to catch up on with my friends this morning...

im still trying to get my head around some of the crazy things people got up to!

and right now its telling me that new res (where i live on campus) folks are UGLY!

last night was my friend johns 22nd birthday and so we did what uni students do best...

got shit faced!

i left my camera in the trusty hands of george who managed to capture the ugliest 171 photos i have ever seen...

honestly not one single photo of anybody was nice!

my inspiration is the start of spring and my longing for summer...

this is definately a late spring/early summer look...

ive never worn a maxi dress personally but this one just looks so fun and colourful id give it a try...

some blue thongs (i LIVE in thongs), tinted moisturiser, sweep of bronzer, a lil blue nail polish, a couple of bangles to match, sunnies and ofcouse the bikini underneath - always need to be prepared for a swim in summer!

this past weekend i attended one of my best friend's from highschools 21st birthday...

her name is nyssa and she is amazing :)

nyss and her family moved to newcastle at the end of highschool...

so it was quite a long trip to get up to her (3.5 hour bus ride followed by 2.5 hour train ride), but luckily another friend from home came up with me so i had someone to keep me sane while i travelled...

i got there a few hours before the party started and got to spend a little quality time with nyssa, doodie (who i travelled with) and another of our friends who had come down from the gold coast rach...

we all got ready, popping on our hottest pink clothing and wonderful sparkly pink eyeshadow, you see...

nyssa is the queen of PINK ...

and so ofcourse the party had to be pink themed!

(she really is the queen, EVERYTHING in her room is pink, from her walls to her laptop)
