^haha... my favourite quote from the wonderful hills - too bad its a jen bunney quote tho, ewwww ^

last night i went to a house party for a friends boyfriends birthday...

thomothy, ella and dc.

complete with a bbq and fire...
i took cheap wine and cruiser double blacks...
i thought i was 16 all over again...
we kinda acted like it to...
with an epic cake fight...

sunders with THE cake.

there was cake EVERYWHERE...
it smooshed allllllll over the floor and was in peoples hair...

thom and danni at war

then shit got real crazy and some peeps wiped dip all over each other...

sam licking dip out of sunders' hair

eww.

the boys played some music while we danced up a storm...

then eventually came time to get pretty...
well as pretty as you can get when you've drunk at uni student rate for a fair few hours...
and we headed into town...
ofcourse i failed to get photos of this part of the night tho so you'll just have to imagine how gorgeous we all looked as we stumbled shimmied around the dancefloor.

ella and me.

mid week laughs.

the things I worried about ...
makes me laugh when I think about
MY HIGH SCHOOL SELF!

didnt you just comtemplate the most bizzare things in your mind whilst attending highschool?

i remember worrying that my school shirt was too short, and my skirt too long (we had a uniform)...
i begged my mum for weeks to take my skirt up and in at the sides so i could be just like all the other "cool" girls...
then last year here at uni we had a 'back to school' party and i wore my old school skirt and most people could not believe that i could have possibly worn such a short skirt to school. haha.
i remember worrying and stressing about what to do on the weekends, which friends to see, where to hang out...
i dont know why i was ever worried i always ended up having a good time regardless of what i choose to do.

looking back the things that i worried about that seemed like life or death issues and dramas meant nothing to my life 2 weeks down the track...
every tiny event or incident was so important to me and dramatic and i always failed to look forward and think about how important what i was worrying about was in the long run...

its funny that things that made me feel sick to my stomach with worry in highschool are of absolutely no relevance to me now in life...

muck up day. year 12. 2007

for my sisters 16th birthday i wrote her a letter which i put in a scrapbook i made for her and one of the most important messages i wanted to convey to her was...
dont stress...
the things you worry about now (what to wear, what group of friends to hang with, what party to attend, your bitchy friend), wont matter in the long run, 6 months down the track you will struggle to remember what it was that even made you worry, so go with the flow, enjoy life, just take it as it comes...
as hannah montanna would say...
"life's a climb, but the views great"...

friday 13.

as im sure you are all aware yesterday was friday the 13th...
and on friday the 13th freaky shit happens!
so what better to way to spend the night then to visit the memorial site of a 1940 air disaster on exactly its 70th anniversary...
"It was a fine, clear day on 13 August 1940 when a RAAF Lockheed Hudson aircraft enroute from Melbourne to Canberra inexplicably stalled and crashed into hills near the airport, killing all 10 onboard, including three Commonwealth Cabinet Ministers, the Chief of the Australian General staff and air crew. The causes of the crash have remained a mystery; the pilot was an experienced RAAF officer, and flying conditions were, as reported at the time by the Melbourne Herald "ideal flying conditions" and even though it was during war time, there has never been any hint of enemy action or sabotage." credit
apparently there has been all sorts of creepy things happen out there through the years and it is the most common place in the ACT that the NRMA get called to due to car batteries going flat...
It's believed that if your car stops on the cattle grid, a nurse who helped out the wounded when the air disaster happened, comes running at your car and tries to get in to help you as if you were injured. She tries to get in anyway possible too. There are stories of people's windscreens being smashed by her. Another story is once a young girl was found beneath a cattle grid. She had died not long before she was found, although the ground around the grid had not been disturbed. The grids weigh in excess of 500 kilograms. And whatever you do, don't turn your car off while your there, it will stall.  credit

i headed out there with two friends and we managed to scare ourselves pretty bad before we had even arrived...
we sat in our car for awhile on arrival as we realised we had come out to the middle of the bush with no torch...
soon another group of eager scare seekers arrived with torches so we followed along...
another group arrived minutes later and followed behind us...
before we knew it we were ankle deep in thick gooey mud, i was wearing old boots which had large holes in them that mud seeped through and both my friends were wearing thongs, not the best choices...
so we are trudging along finding it difficult to walk and see when all of a sudden two guys come charging at us from behind, obviously we freak out and run, before realising its just two ordinary guys from the group behind...
we continue our walk, not quite sure where we are going, when suddenly from out of nowhere a firework goes off right beside us and that REALLY freaked us...
ofcourse once again, it was just the boys following behind us...
finally we reached a clearing and realised we had no idea where we were going...
and neither did the group behind us or infront of us or the other 30 or so people currently wandering aimlessly around the part of the bush we were in...
so we hid in bushes, walked around aimlessly still freaking out because most people out there were just out to scare everyone else...
we never did make it to the actual memorial...
we are thinking about talking a walk down there tommorow in the day time because im now so intrigued by all the history and stories...
it was a really fun night despite not getting to the site...
i havent felt so scared in quite awhile, it was actually exhilarating!

how did you spend your friday 13th?
ever seen a ghost?
whats the scariest thing thats ever happened to you?

redbull & viagra.

once upon a time rinnie went on an amazing trip of a lifetime to new zealand...
there she met some wonderful people and when the tour finished she vowed to keep in contact with them...
flash forward 7 months and the first reunion was planned to take place in sydney...
rinnie, her 3 friends from uni who she went over to nz with, 2 girls all the way from over in perth and 1 lovely lady from albury attended...
what followed was a hilarious, crazy, funfilled weekend....

FRIDAY
we arrived in sydney at 8pm (after a 3 hour bus trip) to the shreiks of two very excited perth girls...
and made our way 100m down the road to our lovely central YHA accomodation...
after a little KFC for dinner...
we were ready to hit the town...
a quick train trip to kings cross...
and then drinks and dancing...
oh and possibly a visit to see some strippers aswell (it was ummmmm an experience haha).

SATURDAY
liss flew in from albury at 8am and so we had to get our hungover selves to wake up far too early...
but we welcomed her with open arms and headed off to breakfast at circular quay...
we then walked around the rocks and checked out the markets there...
my highlight was a visit to my fave candy store sticky, where we bought some delicious $4 offcuts...
we had a quite arvo recovering from the night before and then were ready to do it all over again...
this time we took the train to newtown and had the most delicious dinner ever...
if you are ever in newtown i recommend dinner at atom thai...
i decided to be adventorous and try something a bit different...
so i had bbq octopus and it was sooooooooooooo good!
we all tried a little of each others meals and i can tell you they were all so yummy i want to go back and have every single dish on the menu!
after dinner we headed across the road to marly bar...
where we consumed more drinks...
including one with the hilarious name redbull viagra...
made some 'friends'...
and just had a generally great time.

SUNDAY
took a leisurely stroll down to darling harbour to get brunch...
ended up at a little place called toros...
took forever to get our food and once we did it was cold, terrible terrible service, will never ever go back and i advise you do the same...
walked around the harbour for a while before it was time to head back and farewell liss...
and then say goodbye to the perth girls ourselves, as we set off on another 3 hour bus trip home.

it was such a fun weekend and i was so happy to see the girls...
you really do make amazing friends on contiki...
cant wait to do it again sometime.

wednesday nights...

... are possibly my favourite nights!
every wednesday, ok almost every wednesday is 'lighty' night...
aka. we hit up the local pub, drink too much, dance around and have two million trillion stories to tell about it the next day...
i love these nights because:

- they are cheap (we pre drink on res before hand, and there is a $2 power hour from 10-11pm)

- we can walk there and home

feb 2010: bathroom shot.

- you can decide at the last minute wether you want to head down there or not.

august 2010: me and amy

- soooo many people from res go so there are always loads of different people there to catch up with.

july 2010: friends on the d-floor

- we have options for a late night feed at maccas or checkers (a little caravan that sells the best drunk food, like hot dog rolls with chips, gravy, chicken nuggets, bacon, cheese and sauce mmmmmmmmmmmm!)

feb 2010: packed for oweek

- the stories that come out of these nights and the priceless hours of entertainment they provide us!
